Esther Gitlow Towers

Rockland Home for the Aged/Esther Gitlow Towers is a senior citizen facility which is subsidized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The rent is calculated on a sliding scale based on income and medical bills. Eligible tenants rent will be approximately 30% of their remaining income after deducting all of their medical expenses. HUD also gives the residents of The Rockland Home for the Aged/Esther Gitlow Towers a $52.00 utility allowance every month. Below is a list of other requirements to be considered for residency:

  • Applicants must be over the age of 62.
  • Must meet the low income financial guidelines established by HUD.
  • To receive Federal subsidies your annual gross income cannot exceed $54,350 for one person or $62,150 for two people.
  • All applicants must be a citizen of the United States or have legal status in the U.S.

The Yvette and Louis Tekel
Senior Residence

Esther Gitlow Towers II/Yvette and Louis Tekel Senior Residence is a senior citizen facility which is subsidized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The rent is calculated on a sliding scale based on income and medical bills. Eligible tenants rent will be approximately 30% of their remaining income after deducting all of their medical expenses. HUD also gives the residents of The Esther Gitlow Towers II/Yvette and Louis Tekel Senior Residence a $67.00 utility allowance every month. Below is a list of other requirements to be considered for residency:

  • Applicants must be over the age of 62.
  • Must meet the low income financial guidelines established by HUD.
  • To receive Federal subsidies your annual gross income cannot exceed $54,350 for one person or $62,150 for two people.
  • All applicants must be a citizen of the United States or have legal status in the U.S.
